Tapestry is the interweaving of discontinuous weft yarns on a tensioned warp through two alternate
sheds - resulting in a firm weft-surfaced textile. Handwoven tapestry has been
recognized as a fine art form since the 13th century. Karen Page Crislip designs and weaves her tapestries
on Gobelin (high warp) looms of various sizes. She uses wools, silks, cottons, metallic threads
and beads in brilliant colors.
